catching up!

Good morning all.. I up and getting ready to finish up the unfinished home work with my son T2. We are working catch up for things that we miss during our sick week. And a very exciting news to share. For the last few days my son T2 had just starting to read books all by himself and enjoying it... Yah!!! I am so happy.. He found out that Franny K. Stein Mad scientist books series, a very interesting book. I am so proud of this newly independent reading interest that have develop.. So now he is on the 5 book in a few days... YAy... And with that excitement i went all by myself to the library and got all the book and more. I researched other kinds of book that have more similar story and got other kinds as well. This is very exciting for me. With this improvement and good emails of improvement signs in school with Thomas is such a relief... All the hard work and long hours of study is now showing signs of return.. I have to go for now, time to work on our home work again.. The joy of being a mother...

Everyone is almost back to health, and weng is picking up few work as well.. Busy time, the Mexico adventure is nearing and so much to prepare.. And a few bucks to earn... More later..

11:11 PM

Hello again.. It has been a very long day in this gray and wet North West weather, but I just have to share some really good news about my son, T2!

Today we had a Individual Education Program (IEP) meeting in school. Since he was identified a couple of years back with decoding problems he gets pulled out in class for individual study.. And in his case reading.. But this year the teacher felt like he should get into math as well for help.. Since reading is a key to everything in school so he now gets one hour of special education.. And let me tell you
, this is been such a help.. As the teacher shows the work that he has been doing from the early days of school, wow a good progress is showing...
The reading problems starts when he gets his letter backwards and then he gets confuse of what he is reading and that leads to not learning anything.. But my T2 don't mind if what he read was not right he was just go on read.. That was in the beginning.. But now he is independently reading a book.. And the teachers are trying so many ways and just really work so hard for what time they have with so many students.. But this IEP it give him a one on one help.. He still have lots to go to get the the level that he needs to be, but with such positive notes
in this meeting I just wanted to share this very happy news from a proud mama..
I know that i did a post a while back about a personal goal for him and it sounds like I am doing good with that goal..

Goodnight and thank you for reading...

work out!

Just got back from a two hours of raking wet leaves job, what great work out that was. I sweat a gallon.. Man it felt good..And it balance yesterdays not doing anything day...
Saturday ended up with just hanging out with the whole family and watched movie.. It was great.. We ate some and rested a lot... Even the kids was so wonderful not a complain of anything, just a family time together.. It was a lovely Saturday in a long time, that i could remember.. And of course we huddle up inside for yesterday was the coldest its been so far.. Mid 30's brrr... No one in this household wanted to do anything outside in that cold unless it is snow all over...

At the moment T2 and the princess is waiting for me very patiently until I finish my posting so we can read more books in this another day of wet and gray day in the North West... But on the lighter note everyone is feeling much better and the coughing is not so bad either, even the hubby felt a lot better today...

And a little update in my volunteering activities. I have been enjoying a lot being in my kids class. Mostly the things I have done so far is just helping the class in copying, laminate stuff , producing stuff that will be of use for the week.. And too see first hand, how parents really make a difference in class and for the teacher. Now a day's even with this brand new school here ,of only two years since it opened, classrooms are full of students.. About average 25 kids per class, that is a lot for one teacher, they need what parents can share to help once in while.. I a so glad that I can and very happy to share and be part of my children's education...
more later.. Thank you for reading

choices!

Its Saturday morning and happy to say that i am setting down in front of the computer with ease.. The children is feeling much better and back to their own self again. And since it is Saturday the game is on back to back computer play. It is very cold outside and really not much fun to be out and about.. We are keeping warm..

During our sick days the Lego characters were being created.. And this was Thomas idea, dragons in clothes mountain
. Since we stayed mostly in bed what perfect place to play pretend and feel better.. And here is the strongest dragon ever created... And a super flyerbot.. All 3 of my kids loves Lego.

As I am posting today's blog, I was thinking of our friend George and Tioga. He posted about "the pleasure of being older"... What a life he have, don't you agree?

Choices!!!
A Simple word that dictates ones direction in ways to live, oneself. My thought....
